A New Chapter For My Website

Posted on 6th July 2026

Since launching the Couzens-Lake Media website in June 2024, I have published a new blog every single Monday without fail. Week after week, regardless of how busy life and work have become, there has always been something new to read.

That commitment has never been accidental.

I have always believed that if a business asks people to visit its website, it should reward that visit with fresh, engaging content. A regularly updated blog demonstrates that a business is active, invested in its audience and passionate about its subject matter. It shows that someone is behind the scenes, thinking, creating and communicating.

Conversely, there is something rather disappointing about arriving at a website only to discover that the latest blog was published several weeks, or even months, ago. Whether fair or not, it can give the impression that the business has slowed down, become distracted or simply forgotten about one of its most important shop windows. In an increasingly competitive online world, first impressions matter, and regular content remains one of the most effective ways of reassuring visitors that a business is thriving, current and engaged.

Consistency also brings practical benefits. Fresh content encourages repeat visits, helps establish expertise within your field, improves visibility in search engines and gives clients another reason to become familiar with the people behind the business. A blog should never simply fill space; it should add value, answer questions, entertain, inform and demonstrate knowledge.

For those reasons, I have never regretted making Monday "blog day."

However, businesses evolve.

Over the past two years, the way people discover and consume written content has changed significantly. Dedicated publishing platforms now offer opportunities that simply weren't available a few years ago. They provide larger audiences, richer interaction with readers and the ability for articles to be shared far beyond the boundaries of an individual website.

In particular, I have thoroughly enjoyed building my presence on Substack, which has become home to my personal writing and longer-form articles. It offers an excellent reading experience, encourages discussion, allows work to be shared widely and, importantly for professional writers, provides opportunities for content to be monetised in a way that supports the continued creation of high-quality articles.

With that in mind, the time has come for my regular blogging to move there.

So, after more than two years of uninterrupted Monday blogs on this website, this marks the end of that particular chapter.

That certainly doesn't mean this website is becoming quieter-quite the opposite.

Instead, the Couzens-Lake Media website will increasingly become the central hub for everything happening across the business. Rather than hosting weekly opinion pieces and essays, it will focus on the latest news, developments and updates from every corner of the company, ensuring visitors can quickly see exactly what is happening and where the business is heading.

There is certainly plenty to report.

Couzens-Lake Media has grown into an international business, with clients across the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia. Every week brings fascinating new stories and new people to work alongside. Through my ghostwriting and editorial services I continue to help individuals, entrepreneurs, business leaders, sportspeople, charities and organisations transform ideas, memories and expertise into professionally written books.

Alongside that sits the publishing arm, Couzens-Lake Publishing, helping authors take their manuscripts from finished draft to professionally produced book. Whether editing, proofreading, design, publishing advice or guiding writers through the publishing process, it remains an important and growing part of what we do.

The coming months promise to be even more exciting.

As the business continues to expand, you'll begin seeing updates on new writing projects, publishing news, client successes, speaking engagements, broadcasting, behind-the-scenes features and developments across the wider Couzens-Lake Media family. There are also plans to broaden our digital presence further through podcasts, vlogging and additional multimedia content, opening up new ways to share stories, ideas and insights with audiences around the world.

So, whilst the Monday blog is moving to a platform specifically designed for that purpose, this website will become an even more valuable resource for clients, readers and anyone interested in following the continuing journey of Couzens-Lake Media.

Thank you to everyone who has read, shared and supported these Monday blogs since June 2024. Your encouragement has meant a great deal.

The writing certainly isn't stopping.

It's simply moving into an exciting new chapter.
