The memoir of Gillian Large, a woman born into an inner world of squalor and chaos, a story that takes you on a roller coaster ride of growing into womanhood with courage, inner strength and humour.

‘This book shows that even in extreme adversity the human spirit can triumph. Quite a harrowing read at times but written with humour and humanity’.

Run deep book

- (Edited)

Tidbury Publishing (2018)

The story of a little boy who really did run away from home to go to sea, recalling some of the adventures Emsworth man Tony Beasley had during his time in the Royal Navy, a story that includes his retelling of the part he played in a mission that took place in the Cold War, one that, ultimately, he emerged from as a hero, even if he wasn’t allowed tom tell anyone where he had sailed or what the mission had involved (see also Beneath The Restless Wave below).

I hear those boots book

I Hear Those Boots
- (Ghostwritten)

Tidbury Publishing (2019)

Betty Gillett’s story remains one of the most extraordinary I have ever had the pleasure to share and tell. Her memoir opens with her memories of a childhood spent in war torn Malaysia, subject to or witness of numerous wartime atrocities carried out by an invading Japanese military whose lust for conquest meant daily horrors became an intrinsic part of Betty’s life. Her experiences of same, recovery from and subsequent life well led are a tribute to the human spirit.

Life on the inside book

Life On The Inside
- (Ghostwritten)

Pitch Publishing (2019)

The footballing life and times of former Norwich City professional footballer Peter Mendham whose retirement from a successful career in the game led to a struggle to come to terms with life, one that, ultimately, saw him as the accused in a high profile court case that led to a long prison sentence.

Beneath the restless wave book

Beneath The Restless Wave

Casemate Publishing (2020)

The success of Run Silent, Run Deep (see above) led to Casemate Publishing acquiring the publication rights of the book in 2020 and republishing it under that title. I added some new material to the narrative as part of that process as well as rewriting parts of the original book as per the publishers wishes.

Doors and whores book

Doors & Whores
- (Edited)

Tidbury Publishing (2021)

Nothing was going to stop Stuart Judd from being successful. And if that meant knocking down anyone who stood in his way, then so be it. Stuart’s life in the security industry started when he was in his early twenties when he recalls, on his first night, some of the customers in the bar asking him how long he’d last? Quite some time as it turned out as Stuart’s company is now one of the most successful and respected in the industry. This is a raw and honest autobiography that is a tribute to his single minded devotion to success and self fulfilment.

My way book

My Way
- (Ghostwritten)

Tidbury Publishing (2021)

The memoir of Lord Russell Baker who has always taken the title of his favourite song to heart; ‘My Way’ is his raison d’etre, whether that involves breaking all of the rules at 10 Downing Street, advising senior members of the British Royal Family that they’re sitting in his seat or sipping champagne with a member of the KGB…all of that and more in the truly remarkable story about a man whose life, travels and both business and charitable exploits have no limits-and won’t for some considerable time to come yet.

‘This guy is amazing and bonkers in equal measure. A really interesting read. Recommended’.

Game shot and match book

138, Game, Shot And The Match
(Ghostwritten)

Pitch Publishing (2021)

In 1983, an unknown 23 year old from Suffolk called Keith Deller took the darts world by storm, defying the odds and sporting conventions to become a most unlikely world champion. This is the story of the man who was the diametric opposite of the beer-swilling, chain smoking, paunch bellied darts player fans were used to-slim, well spoken, teetotal and a non-smoker.

‘Ed was a delight to work with, always a true professional, and he produced my autobiography which I am very proud of’ - Keith Deller

Sit still timmy book

Sit Still Timmy-A Lifetime of Undiagnosed ADHD

Sit Still Timmy! is a self-help book combined into a life story of late-diagnosed ADHD designed to assist those with the condition, those yet to be diagnosed, and close family members forced to endure the daily fallout of unpredictable behaviour. At times it is laugh out loud funny. At other times despairingly bleak’.

‘Frank and brave. I could not put it down. Great to read for anyone with or who wants to understand more about ADHD’.

- Category Winner for the East Anglian Book Awards (2023).

Review

‘Ed gave me belief, advice and support throughout the project that my book was of value and also that my writing and style of writing was good. Without his guidance and encouragement I may not have had the courage to finally press the ‘publish’ button. His experience and expertise were invaluable but it was also essential for me to find someone who was easy to work with and who was always on the same page’. – Tim MacWilliam

Vincent Kompany, a man whose talent and leadership skills continue to impress the footballing world, already has a statue honouring him outside Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium – a rare tribute earned for his total commitment to victory. Never afraid to speak his mind, Kompany says what he believes will give him and  his team the best chance of success. Utterly confident in his convictions, his words are expressed with an honesty and intellect that has earned him respect both as a world class player and, now, as an elite coach. By speaking to those who shaped Vincent’s life, this book helps us understand what made Kompany the man he has become and what drives him to succeed.
